Practice Makes Perfect – Some of the Best Practices for Blogging and Tweeting

Blogging and micro-blogging/tweeting, when done properly will provide an organization or event with an audience they may not have been expecting.  There are hundreds of runners that blog and tweet daily about their latest feat, their training schedule or how to eat properly or even how to stay motivated; why not have race directors do the same?

One of the best practices when creating a blog is making sure to promote it to let the world know about what you are writing about.  Blogs allow you to connect your posts to other social media pages, why not connect it to the micro-blogging account Twitter?  “Blogs and Twitter fit like a hand in a glove.  Twitter is like the trailer to the blog’s movie” (Schaefer, 2012).   Promoting the posts on Twitter allows for the organizers followers to see link to blog posts and share the link with the followers; this is…
